We have been in business for thirty seven years and specialize in American folk art, American Indian art, American painted furniture and decorative arts, Antique Quilts and Textiles, Antique Hooked rugs, Amish quilts, African American quilts, Antique jewelry and Outsider art. We are always interested in acquiring high quality items. We will purchase items outright, but also accept consignments, and broker objects for customers and clients.
The services we provide include appraisals, consultations relating to interior design, purchases and other related interests.
Over the years we have acquired considerable knowledge about the things we have bought and sold. We have a strong visual orientation, always looking for the magic and mystery that lies beneath the surface of objects. . . that quality than transcends elementary considerations of function, utility, and even traditional notions of what makes art art.
In a very real sense, art is not art if it is called art. We are strong believers in what Jean Dubuffet said . . . "Art does not lie down in the bed that is made for it. It runs away as soon as one says its name. It loves to be incognito. Its best moments are when it forgets what it is called."
